Upon his graduation from Atmajaya Catholic University in 2005, he went to the United States of America and received his master's degree in International Comparative Law (LL.M) from the Dedman School of Law, Southern Methodist University, Dallas, Texas in 2009. He used to live in New York and appointed as the contract attorney for Indonesian project and worked in a New York local firm. Ishak started his career as the Indonesian lawyer we he joined Makes & Partners, a well-respected law firm in Indonesia, when he was a Senior Associate and involved in substantial transactions conducted by large Indonesian corporation with practice area of capital market, M&A, foreign direct investment, and banking & finance.
Afterwards, he joined Hanafiah Ponggawa & Partners (currently known as Dentons HPRP), a big law firm in Indonesia, and as a Senior Associate, he was involved the general corporate, capital market, and property projects. He gained his expertise in property when he assisted the Indonesian Ministry of Public Housing. He gained his property expertise even more as the Senior Legal Counsel at China Fortune Land Development group member in Indonesia, a Chinese developer and operator of industry cities which is ranked among the world's most valuable real estate brands.
Some of Ishak’s highlight involved project or clients are Lippo Group such as Matahari, First Media and Link Net, MNC Group such as Global Mediacom and Indovision, state-owned enterprises such as Krakatau Steel and Jasa Marga, financial institutions such as Bank CIMB Niaga and Bank Maybank, property companies such as Agung Podomoro, Pakuwon Plaza Indonesia and CFLD Indonesia, logistics company such as Hansa Meyer Global Indonesia, hotel and resort companies such as Siladen Group.
Ishak has developed his legal career and expertise in assisting foreign and local clients, both are corporate and individual, with specialization in general corporate, contracts, property and commercial litigation. Ishak is a registered advocate in PERADI (Indonesian Advocate Association) since 2014.
